We have 2 colours :

  • Tesu is a dark yellow concentrate & is made from tesu and marigold flowers along with turmeric extracts.
  • Majith has beautiful hues of mahogany and they come from the majith plant, beetroot extracts and rose petals. 

How do we ensure safety?

100% Organic: Our water colours are made from flowers and vegetables grown in regenerative farms, providing a truly organic Holi experience.

No Nasties: We don't add any synthetic dyes, industrial pigments, or harmful chemicals. Our colours contain zero chemicals, talcum, asbestos and silica.

Since our colours are made from flowers and plant extracts, they are gentle on all skin types.

Making Process

Our Holi colours are processed exactly as they used to in ancient India and for centuries.

Fresh flowers and plant extracts are boiled and simmered in water for extracting natural pigments. Some of the pigments are also extracted by soaking fresh ingredients in water for a few days (without any heat). These naturally pigmented concentrates are then tested for colour consistency and once the water colours are ready, they are poured into reusable glass bottles and packed in sustainable packaging.

The result is Holi colours that are not just 'natural,' but also 'safe' and 'non-toxic'

Each 100ml Liquid Colour can be mixed in one bucket of water to get one bucket of natural water colour for Holi.

Prep Your Clothes:

Before you start, consider wearing old clothes that you don't mind getting stained. If you have special attire, it's advisable to apply a layer of oil on the fabric to make colour removal easier later.

Dilution is Key:

Our water colours come in concentrated form. Dilute them in a bucket of water to achieve your desired colour intensity. Remember, a little goes a long way, and it's always easier to add more colour if needed.

Apply with Joy:

Splash the water colours with enthusiasm! These colours are designed to wash off easily from the skin, leaving no stains.

May stain clothes:

While the colours are 100% skin-friendly, they may leave stains on clothes.

Wash Separately:

When it's time to wash your clothes, do it separately. Washing them with other items might transfer colour.

What are 'Pucca Colours'?

'Pucca colours' are well-known for their ability to leave a stain on the skin and even walls. The reason that happens, is because these are made from strong industrial dyes and pigments. Moreover, these may also contain silica, asbestos, and other carcinogenic ingredients. They can not only be harsh to the skin but may also pose health hazards to humans, animals and even the earth. For example: Green colour could be derived from copper sulphate, which is a common agricultural poison or purple which may be made from chromium and bromide compounds, which are both carcinogenic. Another common dye used is Gentian Violet, which is a mutagen, a mitotic poison, and a clastogen.

How are 100% Natural Liquid Water Colours different from Pucca Colours?

Advait Living (Farms) is bringing back the lost tradition of making Gulals and watercolours from flowers and herbs! Our liquid Holi colours are made by grinding, boiling and extracting natural pigments that can be mixed with water to get Holi Colours. They are 100% 'natural', 'safe' and 'non-toxic'.

What is the shelf life of these liquid colours?

Our Liquid Water Colours (unopened) have a shelf-life of 6 months.

How to wash these watercolours off?

Water colours, made from Industrial dyes, require repeatedly washing with soaps and scrubbing of the skin. This aggravates a lot of skin damage.

Our natural and gentle liquid colours will wash off with the water itself! So, no dryness or skin damage will occur due to excessive scrubbing during your bath.

My children love balloon fighting. I am worried about the impact of these colours on them.

Colours make my skin patchy. Are these skin-friendly?

Our natural watercolours are made from plant extracts. They are extremely kind to the skin and are suitable for all skin types. However, some ingredients may not be suitable for your skin. Doing a patch test first and checking compatibility before use is always advisable.

Please refer to the ingredient list to see if you have any specific allergies to any of the ingredients mentioned above.

Usually, watercolours can leave stains that are hard to remove. Will these be easy to wash off?

Our watercolours are made with 100% natural ingredients and can be washed off easily with little water! They will not leave wall stains either. You can enjoy the festivities without any worries or stains!

I have animals at home. Are these safe for them?

While these watercolours are 100% safe for animals, avoid exposing your pets to activities that may discomfort them.

What makes them 'earth friendly'?

Holi Colours, made from industrial dyes and pigments, are highly toxic to the environment as they may burn plants in the vicinity and these leech in under-ground waters when washed off. The impact remains for months/years together.
Our water colours are made from edible agricultural produce 100% safe for its immediate environment and underground water. Moreover, they need very little water to wash off and hence save water as well.
