Trying this product from Advait Living was a delightful surprise! As someone who never tried ajwain honey, I was surely not expecting such an amazing taste. It tastes even better than marmalades and hence is a staple for us.

The floral flavour is so addicting. I end up having it as dessert also. Not even going to think about eating other spreads after this.

Description
100% Pure & Natural Raw Ajwain Honey
Ajwain (bishop’s weed) is an herb grown in dry, arid regions and is widely used in Indian cooking for its strong, distinctive character. The same plant gives rise to ajwain flower honey, one of the rarer varieties of raw honey, collected only during its short bloom window.
Origin & Harvest
Harvested once a year, it is a seasonal product, not mass-produced. What you get is pure honey in its natural form, unprocessed, unpasteurised, and directly from the hive.
- Source: Ajwain (carom) fields, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan
- Harvest Season: December
- Sourcing: Collected by experienced micro-beekeepers
Flavour Profile
Unlike lighter floral honeys, this is real raw honey with a slightly deeper, herbal edge. Its flavour reflects the source, not added ingredients. This pure raw honey is not blended or flavoured after extraction.
Medium-sweet with a subtle herbal note and a light tang. Light amber in colour with a smooth, slightly thick texture.
Pairs well with:
- brewed teas
- ricotta and soft cheeses
- dried fruits
Can be consumed directly or used as a natural sweetener.
What Makes Our Ajwain Honey Different?
Raw Honey: This honey is unprocessed and unpasteurised, with no added sugar or additives. What you get is exactly what the bees produce.
Monofloral Source: This ajwain honey is derived from a single floral source. The flavour comes naturally from the nectar, not from infusion or flavouring.
Cold-Filtered, Not Heated: Filtered without heat to retain natural enzymes and nutrients. This is essential for maintaining the integrity of raw honey.
Ethical Beekeeping: Sourced from micro-beekeepers who follow bee-friendly practices, ensuring minimal disturbance and sustainable collection.
Crystallisation of Raw Honey
This honey may crystallise over time due to natural glucose content. This is a normal characteristic of pure honey and indicates that it has not been overheated or heavily processed.
Read more about crystallisation of honey here.
Health & Everyday Use
Traditionally, ajwain has been associated with digestive use, and many people value ajwain honey for its benefits in everyday routines, especially for digestion and appetite support. Because it is minimally processed, this nature’s raw honey retains its natural enzymes, antioxidants, and minerals.
This raw, healthy organic honey is often chosen as a natural alternative to refined sugar. It is commonly used in warm drinks, daily routines, and traditional practices.
Some people also explore ajwain honey for skin as part of natural skincare routines due to its cleansing and hydrating properties.
Making Process
How Is Our Ajwain Honey Made?
Advait Living’s Raw Ajwain Honey is collected as close to its natural state as possible. It is pure honey, straight from the hive, unprocessed and unaltered. What you get is असली छत्ते का शहद, sourced using modern bee boxes while following traditional, ethical practices.
1. Hive Placement in Ajwain Fields
We work with experienced micro-beekeepers in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. Bee boxes are placed in Ajwain-growing regions during the bloom season so bees primarily collect nectar from ajwain flowers, ensuring a true monofloral source.
2. Bee-Friendly Housing
The bee boxes are designed to support natural bee behaviour and protect the colony. They provide a safe environment for bees and the queen, without disrupting their natural cycle.
3. Careful Honey Collection
Once the honey is ready, beekeepers gently remove the frames. A controlled amount of smoke is used only to calm the bees without harming them. The honey is then extracted using a centrifugal process that preserves its natural structure.
4. Cold Filtering, No Heating
The extracted honey is filtered using fine cloth to remove wax and impurities. No heat is applied at any stage. This helps retain natural enzymes, antioxidants, and nutrients that are often lost in processed honey.
5. Bottling and Quality Check
The honey is packed in sterilised glass jars and goes through quality checks for purity, consistency, and taste before reaching you.
Sustainable & Ethical Practices
- No bees are harmed during collection
- Only about 70% of the honey is harvested, leaving enough for the bees
- No sugar feeding or artificial intervention
- Pollen is not extracted, ensuring bees retain their natural nutrition
- Supports the livelihoods of small-scale and nomadic beekeepers
From Hive to Jar
Every step is designed to keep the honey as close to its natural form as possible, while respecting both the bees and the environment.

How to Use Ajwain Honey in Everyday Meals
Raw ajwain honey has a slightly herbal, deeper flavour, so it works best where you want both sweetness and a bit of edge.
1. In Daily Drinks
Add a spoon to warm water, chai, or herbal teas. It balances strong flavours and adds natural sweetness.
2. With Indian Meals
Use it to balance acidity in tomato-based curries or chutneys. A small amount can round off sharp, spicy flavours.

Drizzle over toast, parathas, or yoghurt. You can also mix it with ghee for a quick, rich spread.
4. Marinades and Glazes
Combine with ginger, garlic, and spices for marinades. Works well with paneer, chicken, or roasted vegetables.
5. Quick Sweet Fix
Have it directly or pair it with nuts, fruits, or soft cheese for a simple dessert.

I want to be honest, if you're expecting mild sweet honey, this is not for you. Ajwain honey has character. It has a warm, herbal, almost peppery undertone. Took me about 3-4 days to fully appreciate it. Now I love it. I use it in my salad dressing, mustard, lemon, olive oil, and a spoon of this honey. It's the best dressing I've ever made. Also good stirred into jeera water. Very authentic product, clearly not processed or adulterated. Minus one star only because I wish the 250g was a bit cheaper.
Main Jaipur se hoon toh ajwain ki familiarity mere liye pehle se thi. Par is honey mein jo flavour hai woh seedha khet se aata hua lagta hai. sweet, warm, aur thoda earthy. Toast pe makkhan ke saath lagake khaya toh bilkul alag hi level ka taste tha. Ab toh subah roti pe bhi lagati hoon thoda. Pati ne kaha yeh toh achhi baat hai, nahi toh main butter zyada lagati hoon! Pet ke liye bhi bahut achha hai. Ajwain toh digestive hoti hi hai. Ek dam sahi product.
My mother (60+) takes it with warm water every morning. Says appetite has improved.
Mere ghar mein teen bachche hain aur sardi-khansi toh seasonal problem thi. Ek neighbour ne yeh ajwain honey suggest kiya. Abhi do mahine se de rahi hoon. ek chamach raat ko warm water ya warm milk mein. Honestly itna fark pada hai ki mujhe khud hairaan ho gayi. Bachche bhi argue nahi karte kyunki taste mein achha hai, thoda strong lekin meetha. Ghar ke badon ke liye bhi use hota hai. Pati bhi roz subah lene lage hain. Is baar 500g ki bottle order ki. Highly recommend.
The aroma itself reminds of ajwain, very natural.

Helps with Bloating and Discomfort: Its slightly warming nature makes it a preferred choice for those looking for something beyond just sweetness.
A Functional Alternative to Sugar: Unlike regular sweeteners, ajwain honey is often used more intentionally rather than casually, especially in simple home preparations.
Works Well in Warm Preparations: Commonly mixed with ginger, warm water, or herbal drinks for everyday use.
More Than Just Sweetness: Along with natural sugars, it contains enzymes and plant-derived compounds from ajwain nectar that give it a distinct profile.
