Experience the difference in cooking with cold pressed groundnut oil that is traditionally extracted and contains zero chemicals and promises great flavour and versatility in your kitchen.

Our groundnut oil is made from locally grown groundnut seeds. Highest quality and graded raw groundnut seeds (peanuts) are cold pressed without the addition of any heat-solvents in a traditional stone-wooden chekku/ghani to obtain fresh and aromatic virgin groundnut oil (peanut oil). Once the oil is pressed, it is left to sediment for a couple of days before it is filtered by a cheesecloth and packed in glass bottles.

Health Benefits of Cold-Pressed Groundnut Oil

1. Heat-Stable Cooking Medium

Groundnut oil contains approximately 20% saturated fats and up to 45% monounsaturated fats (MUFAs), which help maintain stability at higher cooking temperatures. This makes it a dependable choice for frying, sautéing, and regular cooking without breaking down quickly.

2. Naturally Rich in Beneficial Fats

It contains omega-9 (oleic acid) and omega-6 (linoleic acid), along with nutrients such as vitamin E, B vitamins, magnesium, and zinc, supporting a balanced, everyday diet.

3. Supports Balanced Fat Intake

Because of its high proportion of monounsaturated fats, groundnut oil is often used in heart-conscious diets. These fats are commonly associated with maintaining balanced cholesterol levels when consumed as part of a healthy lifestyle.

4. Natural Antioxidant Presence

Vitamin E and naturally occurring antioxidants help protect against oxidative stress and support overall nutritional balance.

5. Traditionally Used Beyond Cooking

Cold-pressed groundnut oil has also been traditionally used for skin nourishment and massage. Its natural composition helps moisturise and support the skin barrier.

Usage Note

For the best flavour and quality, it is recommended to use fresh oil for cooking. If reused, ensure it is properly strained and free from food particles.

Purity You Can Trust

Free from refining, bleaching, and deodorising processes, this oil retains what matters. Its natural flavour, composition, and integrity.

Making Process

How Is Our Cold-Pressed Groundnut Oil Made?

Our cold-pressed groundnut oil is made through a traditional process that preserves the natural flavour, aroma, and nutrients of the groundnuts.

1. Farm-Sourced Groundnuts

The groundnuts used for our cold-pressed groundnut oil are sourced from our own farms and trusted partner farms that practice natural agriculture without chemical pesticides. The seeds are harvested at the right stage of maturity to ensure optimal oil yield and flavour.

2. Careful Seed Selection

After harvesting, the groundnuts are manually graded to select seeds with the right size, ripeness, and oil content. This step ensures that only high-quality peanuts are used to produce our cold-pressed peanut oil, contributing to its aroma and nutritional value.

3. Cleaning and Sorting

Before extraction, the seeds undergo a cleaning process to remove dust, stones, and other impurities. This step ensures that the finally extracted oil remains pure and free from contaminants.

4. Traditional Cold Pressing (Kachi Ghani Method)

The cleaned groundnuts are slow-pressed in a wooden ghani (chekku) at low RPM. This wood-pressed groundnut oil extraction process uses mechanical pressure rather than heat or chemical solvents. Because no external heat is applied, the oil retains its natural flavour, aroma, and nutrient profile.

5. Natural Sedimentation

After extraction, the raw oil is allowed to settle naturally for a few days. During this period, heavier particles and natural sediments sink to the bottom, allowing the oil to clarify without industrial processing.

6. Gentle Cheesecloth Filtration

Once sedimentation is complete, the oil is filtered through traditional cheesecloth. This removes residual particles while keeping the oil raw and minimally processed, preserving the natural characteristics of our cold-pressed groundnut oil.

7. Fresh Glass Bottling

The final cold-pressed peanut oil is packed in food-grade glass bottles to preserve freshness and prevent contamination. Glass packaging also helps protect the oil’s natural aroma and flavour, ensuring the oil reaches your kitchen in its purest form.

Shipping

Glass Bottles: Our cold-pressed groundnut oil is packaged in high-quality glass bottles whenever logistics allow. This eco-friendly packaging preserves purity and is reusable. Local customers enjoy discounts on refills, contributing to a sustainable cycle.

Note: Glass is our first choice — always. However, our 1L glass bottles have been repeatedly broken in transit for outstation deliveries, and receiving damaged packaging is a worse experience than receiving plastic bottles. Until we have a transit-safe glass solution for the 1L size, outstation orders will be shipped in food-grade HDPE plastic. Local customers in Agra and New Delhi continue to receive glass. We'll update this as soon as that changes.

Sustainable Packaging: We're committed to sustainability. While our groundnut oil orders come in plastic-free packaging for local orders, outstation orders may include plastic bottles and/or bubble wrap for efficient shipping. We encourage you to reuse or return our packaging, reinforcing our dedication to a greener, healthier planet.

FAQ

Have questions? We've got answers! Check out our Frequently Asked Questions section for all the info you need. Find solutions, tips, and more to make your experience smoother.

What is the difference between cold-pressed and refined groundnut oil?

Cold-pressed groundnut oil is extracted mechanically without chemical solvents or high heat. Refined groundnut oil undergoes industrial processing such as bleaching and deodorising, which can remove natural flavour and some nutrients.

What are the benefits of cooking with groundnut oil?

Groundnut oil contains monounsaturated fats, vitamin E, and natural antioxidants, and its heat stability makes it suitable for everyday cooking.

Can we fry food in cold-pressed groundnut oil?

Yes. Groundnut oil naturally has a high smoke point (around 225–230°C), making it suitable for sautéing, stir-frying, and deep frying.

My cold-pressed groundnut oil is creating foam while frying. Is that normal?

Yes. Minimal foaming may occur when natural residues or food moisture interact with hot oil. This is common with minimally processed cold-pressed oils.

How should cold-pressed groundnut oil be stored?

Store the oil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and keep the bottle tightly sealed. Always use a dry spoon to avoid moisture contamination.

What is the shelf life of Advait Living cold-pressed groundnut oil?

When stored properly, cold-pressed groundnut oil typically has a shelf life of about 9 months while retaining its flavour and aroma.

Do you offer larger pack sizes of groundnut oil?

Yes. The oil is available in multiple pack sizes, including 250 ml, 1 litre, and 5 litre value packs, to meet different household needs.

Does cold-pressed groundnut oil have a strong smell?

Cold-pressed groundnut oil has a natural nutty aroma because it is not deodorised during processing. The aroma is usually mild and enhances the flavour of cooked dishes.

Why does cold-pressed groundnut oil sometimes appear cloudy?

Cold-pressed groundnut oil may occasionally appear slightly cloudy or contain fine sediments because it is minimally processed and naturally filtered. This is normal for traditionally extracted oils and does not affect quality.

Can cold-pressed groundnut oil be reused for frying?

Reusing cooking oil is generally not recommended. If you choose to reuse groundnut oil, allow it to cool completely, strain it to remove food particles, and avoid repeated reheating to maintain quality.

Advait Living Cold Pressed Groundnut Oil

Advait Living cold-pressed groundnut oil is extracted from farm-grown peanuts using the traditional wood-pressed (kachi ghani/chekku) method. The seeds are mechanically pressed at low RPM without chemical solvents or industrial refining, producing pure cold-pressed peanut oil with its natural flavour, aroma, and nutrients intact.

Because the seeds are pressed only once, this oil is classified as virgin grade, a higher standard than oils produced through repeated pressing of the same seeds.

Natural Nutritional Composition

Cold-pressed groundnut oil naturally contains a balanced fatty acid profile of approximately:

  • ~20% saturated fats
  • ~45% monounsaturated fats (MUFA, oleic acid, Omega-9)
  • ~35% polyunsaturated fats (PUFA, linoleic acid, Omega-6)

It also contains naturally occurring Vitamin E (delta-tocopherol), which supports immune function and has anti-inflammatory properties, and beta-sitosterol, a plant sterol associated with supporting healthy cholesterol levels.

Versatile Everyday Cooking Oil

Traditionally extracted cold-pressed groundnut oil is widely used in Indian kitchens for sautéing, frying, and tempering dishes. Its mild nutty aroma enhances foods such as poha, upma, chutneys, vegetable stir-fries, and dal tadka. Many households also use groundnut oil for body massage and traditional skincare routines.

Fresh Small-Batch Production

Advait Living produces this groundnut oil in small batches. After pressing, the oil naturally settles and is gently filtered through cheesecloth before being packed into glass bottles to preserve its freshness, flavour, and purity.
